How to cancel Netflix

Steps

1. Sign in and open the Manage your membership page (Account → Membership).
2. Click Cancel.
3. Click Finish Cancellation. A confirmation email follows.

What happens

Charges stop

No more charges. You keep watching until the end of the period you already paid for.

Refund

No partial refund. You simply keep access until the billing period ends.

Instead

You can pause for 1 month at a time (up to 3 months total), but not on the Basic plan or with some payment methods.

The catch

• Deleting the app or signing out does NOT cancel.
• No Cancel button? You pay through a partner (phone or cable company). Cancel with them; your Account page says who.
• If the account is on hold, it closes immediately when you cancel.
• Gift card balance keeps the account running until it is used up.
